Christmas Gifts

These are some gifts that I made for Christmas.  First are the handsanitizers that I decorated for the girls(and 1 guy) at the bank.  I removed the label from the bottles and then cut the initial from each persons first name in black vinyl then in a coloured vinyl cut there names and put it over the initial.  I then just added some polka dots and a ribbon.  Except for George, his is just plain.

Next is chalkboards.  I bought some assorted frames and my hubby painted the frames red and cut hard board to fit and painted it with chalkboard paint.  I bought a couple of packs of chalkboard markers at Hobby Lobby and attached one with velcro

Merry Christmas!  I am off for the next five days now, so I am hoping to do some crafting.

Cake Carrier

At work we picked names for a Secret Santa. The person that I picked likes to bake and I had this cake carrier that I had bought to decorate so I thought this was the perfect time for this.  It was my first time putting larger words with vinyl on a curved surface.  It wasn't as easy as I had hoped, the words need a bit of a curve to them.  It was a learning process.
I hope she likes it.

Christmas Elf Marci

Here is a few Christmas cards I made using the Christmas Elf Marci digi by La La Land Stamps.  I was hoping to cut them out with my Cameo but for some reason it read the registration marks but cut way off.  I managed to same the digi but cut it out by hand and then just left the other ones.
I feel like I learned so much by taking the copic class with Suzanne Dean and enjoy colouring digis.

Store Signs

I had someone ask me to make a couple of signs for her store window.  I love the silhouettes from the SIL store.  These signs are just on foam core so they are nice and light.  It was nice to do an easy to weed vinyl project.

1 Month 'til Christmas

If you came here from Mary's blog then you are in the right place.  If you just happened to stop by my blog and you would like to hop along with us then you can go to my friend Heathers blog at http://princesspaperprojects.blogspot.com/.
Well this is our last blog hop before Christmas.  It's crunch time.  Time to get those Christmas cards mailed out.  Now for the big decision will be who gets what card.  Sending the best cards to the people who will appreciate it the most.  Admit it, I know you do it too. lol
This month I have made a card and a holiday decor item.
My first project is a plate to put your cookies for Santa on.  This was super easy and I used my Cameo to cut the vinyl for the lettering and the large circles and punches for the smaller circles.
I work beside a little Cafe and the owner has put these 2 plates on her counter to see if I can sell some.  My fingers are crossed.

My second project is a card that was also cut with the Silhouette Cameo.  It was a card file from the Silhouette store which I adjusted to just be a layer for the front of my card.
Your next stop is Georgiana's blog
I hope that you have enjoyed the Christmas cards and projects that we have been making every month and I hope that we have inspired you.  Have a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year and wishing health and happiness to all.

Crafty Lizzie

Yesterday I spent the day with my daughter taking a Suzanne Dean Copic class.  We had a great time and learnt so much.  Suzanne is an amazing teacher.  If you ever get the chance to take one of her classes I highly recommend that you do.  She also has online classes that you can take.  Her work is absolutely beautiful.
Today I spent a little time practising and this is what I came up with.

Delicate Flower

I love these delicate cut cards from the Silhouette online store.  They cut beautifully too, crisp and clean lines.  I loved how the navy and yellow one turned out so much that I had to make the grey and pink one.  The photo doesn't show the grey & pink card as good as it really looks.  It is my bosses 65th birthday coming up so one of these will be for her.
I also used up some scraps on these cards to decorate the top of the card.  We all have those leftover strips of paper that hold on to.

Halloween Charger

I am having so much fun using my Silhouette Cameo.  I picked up these chargers at Michael's in assorted colours.  This one is a lime green.  I made this this morning while I was doing laundry and before I went to work.  I had to find a little time to play.

2 Months 'til Christmas Blog Hop

If you came from Sara's blog then you are in the right place.  If you just happened to stop by my blog and would like to hop along you can start at the beginning at Mary's blog.
That's right 2 months until Christmas, 8 weeks, 60 days, 4 pays.  You get the drift.  Who's done their shopping?  Not me, but I am getting there.  If you saw my last two post you will have seen that I got a Silhouette Cameo for Christmas.  "It's not Christmas yet", you say, how can that be?  Well hubby let me open it early as I have some Christmas gifts that I would like to make with it.  I used it for both of my projects this month.
We are changing things up a bit this month and expanding the Christmas theme to include any Christmas items, cards, tags, gift bags, decor, anything.
My first project is a card.  I used copics and the Silhouette.  I used the Silhouette to print and cut the digi stamp Mrs Claus from Kenny K.  I also cut a shadow layer for it.  I love that I can do this.  I hated cutting out images.
Supplies:
Paper: Black, white (Recollections), Real Red (SU), Fabulous Christmas (Hobby Lobby) LOVE the leopard print.
Stamps:  Mrs Claus(Kenny K), Christmas Wishes(My Pink Stamper)
Liquid Applique
Copics: E00, E000, E29, E33, E35, E37
C5, C7, 100
R20,R29, R32, R35, R59
Y15
B05, BG10

My second project is a file I got from a group on FB.  I cut it from vinyl.  It took a little while to weed but was worth it.  I bought an assortment of these chargers at Michaels for this type of project.  For the circles around the outside I just used my 1' punch.

Silhouette Cameo

My first projects using the Silhouette Cameo.  I did a print and cut with my digi stamps.  I hated cutting them out with scissors.

This is a split letter that I did.  I got the file for this one from a group on FB but I watched a video on how to do the split and designed one myself.  Here is the video http://www.youtube.com/watch/?v=B6eaESeO4sA
I will be making these as Christmas gifts.

US Shopping Day Trip

We went on a one day shopping trip to the US yesterday.  I love our US shopping trips.  I get to stock up on paper and supplies.  We don't have Joann's here in Canada so paper stacks that are exclusive to Joann's we can't get.  Even at Michaels the prices are so much cheaper for the same items.  Our paper stacks here are $29.99 and go on sale usually for $17.99 and I stock up on them on my trips for at the most $11.99.  The US dollar and the Canadian dollar are almost at par so it really saves a lot of money and makes for a fun trip.
We left our house at 6:00am yesterday morning and got gas, made a stop part way for bathroom break, had a 20 minute wait at the border and we were still at our first stop of K-Mart by just after 8:00am.  From there we went to Joann's, Kirklands, Hobby Lobby and Walmart all in Niagara Falls, NY.  Then we headed over to Amherst, NY to Buffalo Stamps and Stuff to pick up my Silhouette Cameo(my Christmas gift from my Hubby) that they were holding for me.  A stop at McDonalds for lunch.  Our McDonalds don't have the chicken select anymore so I like to have them when I can.  The next stop was Michaels, another Joann's, Lane Bryant, Target, and finally AC Moore.  We were back home by 7:30pm and exhausted.  Now that is what I call a great day.
Here are the craft supplies that I got.

This is my absolute favourite Christmas paper that I picked up at Hobby Lobby.  I should have bought 2 because I know it will get used a lot.
SILHOUETTE CAMEO IS IN THE HOUSE!!!!!!
Thanks for stopping by, now it's time to go and craft.

Springtime Silhouettes

Happy Labour Day!  I hope everyone has enjoyed their summer and that the nice weather continues for awhile.
I worked Saturday and Sunday so I only had today off and I decided to spend it in my craft room playing with some stamps that I have had for awhile but haven't used much.  The set is Springtime Silhouettes by Gina K Designs.  The stamp set came with cardstock, patterned paper, ribbon and brads.  Their sets and their paper are awesome.
I added some Dew Drops for embellishment and went over the stamped image with my glitter pen.
I coloured in the butterfly with assorted purple copics and of course I added some glitter.  It was cut out with
a circle spellbinder and then mounted on a lacy circle spellbinder.  The sentiment was stamped on Fancy Tag
spellbinder die.
