Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

Here's hoping that you all had a great Christmas.  My family was very good to me and knows my love of all things crafty.  Here are a few pictures of some crafts I made for family and friends recently.  I made glitter ornaments for the kids last Christmas and they were a big hit so this year I made them for the adults, the girls at the bank and a new addition to my daughters best friends family.
I then put them in a paper bag with an M & M stick with a tag sticking out.  I was running out of time or I would have decorated the bag.  Working 2 jobs made things a little rushed.

For my Nieces and Nephew I bought Christmas mugs and added hot chocolate, mini marshmallows and mini chocolate chips.  In the sticks are Skittles and Reeces Pieces.

Here are some pictures of my gifts.  My daughter is taking me to Ikea to get an Expedite shelf next week so she got me some purple baskets.  I got the Cricut E2 Anniversary Edition which came with 4 cartridges loaded on it.  For cartridges I received Kate's Kitchen, Best Friends, Better Together, Blossom, Bubblegum, Yummy and Country Carnival all for the Imagine, Art Philosophy, Go Canada and All Sports.  I also got copics, Perfect Pearls, Liquid Pearls, Stickles, Tim Holtz Ink and Blending tool, DCWV Baby Girl stack, My Creative Time Lollipop die, circle and scalloped circle die, Classy and Fabulous Stamp bundle and the Valentine's bundle.  So much fun stuff to play with.

Wishing you all good health and happiness in the coming new year.
Thank you for stopping by and leaving such encouraging comments throughout the year and I hope you continue to come back and visit.

Word Collage Christmas Gifts

Ever since I bought the Word Collage cartridge I have wanted to do some home decor with it.  I picked up some 12 x12 frames at Michael's and laid out my first project on my Gypsy.  The Wine word collage is long so to fill up the frame I used Lyrical Letters for the word Wine along the side and some ribbon.  I was time consuming weeding the excess vinyl and making sure all the letters stayed in place.  I then used Transfer Tape to line it up on a 12 x12 piece of scrapbook paper.
 Supplies:
Paper:  Christmas(Anna Griffin)
Vinyl: Black (Cricut)
Cartridges:  Word Collage, Lyrical Letters
Embellishments:  Ribbon (Celebrate It)

For my next ones I decided to use my Imagine and print it on the paper.  I used the fit to page feature, filled the image with brown and used the print only option.  Done in 5 minutes.  Both of these are also from Word Collage and Stampin Up paper.  I will definitely be making more of these this way.

Let me know what you think.  Thanks for stopping by.
I am going to link this up to the Made it Myself Monday over at You Had Me At Craft.

Cricut Imagine Tags and RGB Codes

The other day I saw a video at My Pink Stamper showing tags that Robyn made from the colours and patterns on the Imagine cartridges.  The very first project I did when I got my Imagine was using the Stampin Up RGB codes (google it there are lots of blogs with lists of RGB codes).  I used 2 1/2" squares from the stock shapes and using the RGB codes I created all of the Stampin Up colours.  If you don't know how use the RGB codes.  There is a square that is multi-coloured between you stock colours and the cartridge patterns.  Click on it and the colour wheel will appear and if you move the pointer around on the colour wheel you will see the numbers to the left changing.  RGB stands for Red, Green, Blue.  Adjust the numbers to make the colour you want according to your RGB Code and Apply.  I wrote the name of the colour on the front of the tag and on the back I wrote the RGB code

A while back I saw a video on Youtube showing these tags showing the Imagine colours and patterns.  I really like that I can see all of the patterns and colours side by side.  It hooks perfectly inside the case.  Check out the video here .

Throwback Thursday Challenge~Green,Orange,Purple,Black~Cricutless

This weeks challenge at http://www.creativetimeforme.com/ is a cricutless challenge using the colours green, orange, purple and black.  I have been wanting to try making a rosette for awhile now and finally did it. I used 2 2" x12" strips of K & Co paper from a Halloween stack from last year.  I scored both pieces at every 1/4" and then using tacky tape I attached the pieces together at both ends to make a circle shape.  I pushed it tight together, added hot glue to the center and attached a round piece of cardstock to keep it together.  I also added a piece of cardstock to the back to make it secure and easy for attaching to my card.
The stamp that I used is from Peachy Keen Stamps Halloween Sweet Folks, the sentiment is from the same set .  I coloured it used a couple of different copics and cut it out using the Creative Memories Circle Cutting System.

Word Collage

I wanted to try out the Word Collage Project cartridge tonight, so I decided to use the Sugar & Spice collage.  I used DCWV Baby Girl paper stack and the background paper is SU not sure of the colour off hand.
Well it was certainly time consuming glue everything down.  What I did was when I had finished cutting it out and weeding the extra paper, I left all of the letters on the Cricut mat.  This was cut using Fit To Page, which was 11".  I then laid the scrap paper that I had removed from the mat on top of my background paper as a template.  I then took each letter and added my adhesive and placed it back into the spot where it had come from.  This made sure that everything was in the right place and was evenly spaced and straight.  I think it turned out pretty good but would definitely be so much easier with vinyl.  Just for a little embellishment I added two cuts from the Nursery Tails Imagine cartridge in the corners.  I will probably put this in a frame.

Have you got this cartridge?  What have you made with it?

Purple Funtastick Creations Guest Designer

I am so excited to be a guest designer today for Kari over a http://purplefuntastickcreations.blogspot.com/ .  Thank you Kari!  The theme's that I was given to chose from were Back to School or End of Summer.  As my daughter is 28yrs old, I chose End of Summer and I did a layout of a Road Trip my daughter and I took last weekend.

My daughter Amanda and I went to my Dad and Step-Mom's for the weekend.  They live in Windsor, Ontario which is across the border from Detroit, MI so we had to cross the border and do a little bit of shopping.  We had a great relaxing weekend and picked up some great deals.

For my layout I used the Summer Vacation Solutions Cartridge and my gypsy.  I welded together 3 copies of the road and laid it out on a 12 x 24 mat using 2 12 x 12 pieces of black SU cardstock so that it would layout on the two pages and split perfectly down the middle.  I also laid out where I wanted the city names to go on the same gypsy layout.  The car and Road Trip are also from the same cartridge and the paper is from SU.  The mats are cut from the Martha Stewart Travel paper pack.
For the journal mat I used a stamp from the My Journaling stamp set by  http://www.creativetimeforme.com/ stamped with Tuxedo Black ink by Momento and cut out using the small classic oval die from Spellbinders as well as the small classic scalloped oval die.
To add a bit of embellishment I used my glitter pen on the city names and my white gelly roll pen for some doodling.

I hope that you enjoyed my post and make sure to stop by http://purplefuntastickcreations.blogspot.com/ and give Kari some love.

Shopping in Michigan

My daughter Amanda and I went to my Dad and Step-Mom's in Windsor, Ontario this past weekend.  Windsor is right across the border from Detroit, Michigan so of course we had to go and do some shopping.  Our first stop was Joanne's Fabrics.  I was looking for the new Teresa Collins Sophisticated Cricut cartridge and the Word Collage and Fancy Frames cartridges.  I found Cricut cartridge displays in 3 different places in the store but not what I was looking for but as I had ran into this before I checked the locked cage where they keep the actual cartridges and there they all were.  Sophisticated cartridge $29.99 and the two project cartridges were $19.99 each.  Great deals!  I was also able to get a set of scalloped rectangle Spellbinders for $15.00, the DCWV Guy Stack and Lemon Flower Stack, 12 x 12 Chipboard, Brown Memento ink, Zots and Scotch quick dry glue.

The next craft store stop was Michael's.  Unfortunately I forgot to print out coupons for Michael's so I only picked up 3 packages of Recollections paper that was on sale for 3 for $10 and some E-6000 glue.

I was so happy that I was able to get the cartridges that I was looking for and I can't wait to use them.  I just loaded them on my Gypsy.  Now to let the creativity flow.

Thanks for stopping by.

Imagine Nursery Tails

I just received the Imagine Nursery Tails cartridge in the mail along with the Heirloom cartridge.  I was so excited to use this new cartridge.  The images are adorable.  I cut the onesie and the layers for it out at 4" and the "It's a Boy" at 1.5".  The butterfly is from my stash.

I used glue dots to add a little bit of dimension to each layer.  I used pop dots on the onesie, the skunk and the tag.
The card base and the designer paper are Certainly Celery by Stampin Up.

Thanks for stopping by.
